THE CHALLENGE

Work with Snohomish County Department of Conservation & Natural Resources to create a strategy and brand guide, separate but in line with the already existing Snohomish County brand.

 
 
 

Let’s dive into our process and the details of the project.

 

The Department of Conservation & Natural Resources partners with Snohomish County communities to steward resources and manage infrastructure for the purpose of

protection, enhancement, use, and enjoyment of our land, air, and water now and into the future.

It was impotant for us to figure out how the DNCR wanted to differentiate themseleves from the existing Snohomish County brand.

Through our beginning strategy meetings, we came to the conclusion that the main vision for the DNCR was as follows:

Original Reference Logo

Through the stewardship of the natural and built environments, the DCNR fosters inclusive, thriving communities across the county.

Before starting our brainstorming phase, there was one thing the department was certain about. They wanted a logo that would pair nicely with the existing Snohomish County logo, while being a separate entity in and of itself.

In order to ensure that this new brand and logo paired nicely with the existing county logo, we used the triangular forms of the trees and similar coloways to

The forms and colors used subtly nod to the existing Snohomish County logo

• Creating a logo that is remniscent and can be used seamlessly alongside the existing snohomish county logo

• Something that is all encompassing to all of the departments within the DCNR.
