If you know HUB, you know that we can turn almost anything into an inside joke. And designing for good can sometimes mean diving into serious subject matter to help our clients. One time, after our attempt to illustrate an icon to represent a pretty morbid concept, the feedback was: “Those arms look like Cheetos, the puffy ones.” Naturally, the designer's immediate reaction was to illustrate an actual Dead Cheeto, and once the art was made, it seemed so ridiculous that the next logical step was to turn it into a pin. Since then, we’ve been making jokes about Dead Cheetos and wearing our Dead Cheeto pins with pride, basking in the confusion they elicit from everyone who asks about them.
